WHY THE OLYMPICS MATTER

timheidecker:

This morning as I worked in my haor I began to ponder this question: Why do we have Olympics? It’s a good question, because the answer is not immediately predetermined to that. But what is the reason for these games, because they are games and would determine if that’s the way COUNTRIES do play them.

Olympics tradition began because of the original Greece where it was games but then because of certain individuals there became new Olympics which was about ALL countries playing games, as in Tennis, Basketball, Running and Wrestling.

These games remind arch that we are only one people designed to complete for most and it’s easily determined by Gold, Silver and Brozne - these are the three layers when it comes to winning.

But if doown is not always fair, is there a common good with as the attempt to make equal those? I can’t be sure if that’s even possible but because of the actual regard to winning some countries are easy to point to for good examples of that!

So, should we keep Olympics going? Yes, it’s important to London and the rest of the world to keep going for the gold! Or is it?
